My name is Ramsey, but you may call me: The Puzzleboy.
Here at The Puzzleboy HQ, we are celebrating the New Year. It’s a little thing we do every January where we change some numbers and make promises we won’t keep, as an excuse to help the champagne industry.
This month, we have our first repeat puzzle format as we return to Hollywood! New Year, Similar Puzzle Structures! Some may say laziness, but the answer is simple: good things stay in style! And also, sometimes you spend a lot of time drawing a little cartoon character guy and you want to use him again because you like how it turned out.
You know what else stays in style? Inscribing names into The Puzzleboy Pantheon every month. Play your cards right, and it could happen to you.

So what has our development executive friend out in Hollywood— the legendary Evan Roberts — been watching lately?
The Town is buzzing about Heated Rivalries! He hasn’t watched it yet, but he’s always been plugged into what The Town is talking about and how dare you suggest otherwise!
I… didn’t.
So, this has affected the pitches he’s buying: it’s all about sports and Canada. That’s what Heated Rivalries is about, right?
Not really? A little?
However, Mr. Roberts has a very particular sensibility. From the examples below, figure out what he’s buying and come up with a title for a new show that will get you a lucrative overall deal!

He moved forward with the very Canadian football specific drama Three Downs to Glory but dismissed Red Maple Ice as “marketing-first.”
He immediately approved 99: The Story of Gretzky but asked—very slowly—what Sudden Death in Sudbury was “actually about.”
He signed off on We Won, Eh? within ten minutes, but his depth of knowledge on curling is lacking, so he passed on Sweep Hard.
He championed Fore! The Links of Nova Scotia but he sent Under the Northern Lights back with notes. A lot of notes.
1. What is the name of your own hot new sports and/or Canadian show that Evan Roberts will absolutely buy from you?
2. What is the connection between your show’s title and the other shows Mr. Roberts liked? (His assistant is not very good, so you’ve really got to spell it out for him.)
