So, yes: if you’ve been a subscriber to this newsletter since May 1st, you may have received two wildly different versions of this puzzle on two consecutive days, and yes, our The Puzzleboy might have been up until the wee hours on a Friday night sweating and cursing at a fake baseball team that he invented, but here’s the important thing: we all got through it and we’re all stronger for it.

Without further ado, here’s how to solve this Balkdle. (Also, while we’re at it, I’m still not happy with that name. If you have a better baseball-related/ends with the suffix “-dle” suggestion, I’d love to hear it.)
There are many, many ways to go about solving this puzzle. Once you crack an initial clue, like Ryan Taggert is the pitcher, you can pretty quickly learn that the Nashville Stars player is the pitcher, and so on and so forth.
For that reason, I don’t think there’s a great method to show an exact path to get to the conclusion. There are many. Instead, here’s our final grid.
