Puzzle Two: Girl, You Have Such Faith in Medicine
A shock to the Hollywood system.
My name is Ramsey, but you may call me: The Puzzleboy.
My love of puzzles started at a very young age, when I was gifted a jigsaw puzzle. “What?!” I hear you say. “A regular old jigsaw puzzle? That’s a pretty boring origin story for a guy named The Puzzleboy!”
Well, two things. One: this was the early 1990s. Two: It was— and this is absolutely true— a Where’s Waldo? puzzle. No kittens. No lighthouses. They got me hooked on the hard stuff, baby.
Here we are, month two, and the routines are already locked in: a puzzle was sent. We recapped it. Names were entered into The Puzzleboy Pantheon, forever enshrined.
Whether you solved last month’s correctly or not, we’re back again with some fresh conundrums to bend your mind around, courtesy your favorite Puzzleboy (me). Let’s do this.
“Have you watched The Pitt yet?” “Did you like E.R.? Oh, you’d love The Pitt, then.” “The Pitt is so graphic and gross and Noah Wyle is so hot. I love it so much.” Our development executive friend out in Hollywood— the legendary Evan Roberts — has heard all the buzz about The Pitt, so now he’s only buying medical dramas. However, he has a very particular sensibility. From the examples below, figure out what he’s buying and come up with a title for a new show that will get you a lucrative overall deal! |  |
He greenlit Scalpel, Please!, but he passed on Doctor Sexy.
He bought The Art of the Heal in the room, but he said Operating Table Confessions “needed work.”
He gave a thumbs up to Blood Doctrine, but he nixed The Practitioner.
He has already gotten in touch with Miles Teller about possibly starring in Kept Alive: Real Stories of Medicine, but he yelled, like, really aggressively at the writer of Cruise Hospital. (In Evan’s defense, the premise was exactly the same as Doctor Odyssey. The pitch was an absolute waste of his time.)
